Not long after the WPA 2014, a group of Indonesia Christian Lawyers started a  small prayer meeting. The kick-off meeting was in 14 August 2012. After a series of meetings, the ICLS founders confirmed that law is a vital arena affecting all areas of people’s life, and every lawyer can and should play a key role in the country’s legal, social, and economic development process, through all that they do in the practice of law. Christian lawyers should take important role in transforming the nations through their legal profession to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).

Since  end of  2013,  the founders and the participants of the fellowship started thinking and considering to organize the meetings and the community into a more formal organization for the number of participants and activities was increasing.  In March 2014, ICLS under the name of Perhimpunan Profesi Hukum Kristiani Indonesia (PPHKI) was established as a legal entity.
